Newcastle submit offer to sign 21-yr-old, but face competition from another PL club – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers have submitted an offer to sign the Marseille defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
According to a report from Foot Mercato via GFFN, the two Premier League clubs have submitted an offer of around €2.5 million to loan the player for this season and they have also included an option to buy the player permanently next summer for a fee of around €15 million.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder had an impressive campaign with Marseille last season and it is no surprise that the Premier League clubs are looking to snap him up.
The highly talented midfielder will be a free agent next summer and it would be wise of the French outfit to cash in on him right now instead of losing him on a free transfer next year.
Newcastle could definitely use a quality defensive midfielder alongside Isaac Hayden and Kamara will help protect their centre backs and allow the attacking players to operate with more freedom.
Similarly, Wolves need to add more depth in the central midfield as well especially with Joao Moutinho in his twilight years.
Kamara could prove to be a quality addition for both clubs and they could sign him permanently if he manages to impress during his loan spell.
The report adds that the player is not convinced about joining either Premier League club and it remains to be seen whether his suitors can convince him to make the move before the transfer window closes.
