Liverpool make their opening move for £40m-rated ace, two other PL clubs keen – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.
According to Daily Express, the Premier League giants have made their opening move for the Mali international and Brighton are demanding a fee of around £40 million to sell him.
Apparently Manchester United and Arsenal have been tracking the 24-year-old midfielder as well.
Liverpool lost Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer earlier this summer and they need to replace the Dutch international.
Wijnaldum was Liverpool’s most durable player and the Reds must make it a priority to replace him adequately before the transfer window closes.
Bissouma has been a quality Premier League midfielder for over a year now and he has the potential to succeed at a top club like Liverpool.
The 24-year-old has a different skill set to that of Wijnaldum but he could be the ideal fit in the Liverpool midfield alongside the likes of Thiago and Naby Keita.
The Mali international will add power, presence and defensive cover to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield. Liverpool have often struggled offensively in the absence of Fabinho and the arrival of Bissouma could solve that problem.
The 24-year-old certainly has the quality to justify the reported asking price in the long run but it remains to be seen whether the Reds can afford him right now.
