Predicted Newcastle XI: Steve Bruce to make two changes, 27-yr-old to start – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Newcastle United crashed to a heavy defeat against West Ham United at home in their first match of the Premier League season and the fans will be expecting a strong reaction from the players today.

The Magpies were beaten 4-2 at home and they will have to bounce back with a positive result against Aston Villa.

Newcastle have a mediocre head to head record against today’s opposition and they will have to improve immensely in order to pull off an upset.

They will be the underdogs heading into this contest. Aston Villa have a better team compared to them.

That said, the West Midlands club have made a poor start to the Premier League season as well and Newcastle will certainly fancy their chances here.

The likes of Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin seemed in good form despite the defeat against West Ham and the fans will be hoping that their attackers can get the job done at Villa Park today.

The attack wasn’t the problem against the Hammers and Bruce will need to ensure that his side is well organised at the back.

Newcastle United Predicted XI (3-5-2): Freddie Woodman; Ciaran Clark, Jamaal Lascelles, Federico Fernandez; Matt Ritchie, Jacob Murphy, Isaac Hayden, Miguel Almiron, Joe Willock; Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson

Krafth and Shelvey are expected to be dropped after a poor performance against West Ham. Summer signing Joe Willock and 27-year-old defender Jamaal Lascelles should come back into the side instead.
