Predicted Aston Villa XI: Dean Smith to make two changes, 24-year-old to start – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Aston Villa take on Newcastle United in the Premier League later today and the West Midlands club will be looking to pick up their first win of the season at home.

Dean Smith’s men were beaten by Watford in their Premier League opener and they will be desperate to pick up all three points here.

Villa are undoubtedly the better team heading into this game and they should be able to grind out a positive result.

The West Midlands club have an outstanding home record against today’s opposition as well and they are undefeated in their last five matches against Newcastle at Villa Park in all competitions.

They have lost just one of their last six meetings with the Magpies across all competitions.

It remains to be seen whether Villa can sort out their defensive problems from the opening game. They conceded three goals against Watford and Smith will demand a better defensive showing from his players today.

Aston Villa Predicted XI (4-4-2): Emiliano Martinez; Ashley Young, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Matthew Cash; Marvelous Nakamba, John McGinn, Leon Bailey, Emiliano Buendia; Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings

Smith is likely to make two changes to his side today. Striker Ollie Watkins and 24-year-old summer signing Leon Bailey should come into the side that was beaten by Watford last week.
