West Ham and Crystal Palace keen to sign £60k-per-week CL winner – Report – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Three Premier League clubs – West Ham, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Crystal Palace – are looking to bolster their forward department before the transfer window ends.
According to reports from The Telegraph, all the three aforementioned clubs are keen to sign Divock Origi from Liverpool before the end of the window.
The 26-year-old joined Liverpool in 2014 and has made over 155 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals. The Belgium striker has dropped down the pecking order behind Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota, and the Reds won’t stand in his way if he wants to move on.
Origi, who is on £60k-per-week wages, has won the Premier League and the Champions League winners medal with Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, but a move away from Anfield will do a world of good to his career.
He is a superb finisher, and all he needs is regular games under his belt to regain his old sharpness. The best feature about him is that he can score goals at a stretch when he is on a song, and considering his age, he would be a very good signing for either of the three clubs.
Wolves had previously wanted him, so their interest in him doesn’t come as a surprise.
West Ham have Michail Antonio as the only recognised senior striker at the club, and he is injury prone. Another striker, preferably someone with Premier League experience, is required, and Origi would be ideal for them.
Palace are also looking to bolster their forward department, and the Eagles could reportedly make a move for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. Origi would be available at a decent price, and Patrick Vieira should explore that option.
