4-3-3 vs Dunfermline: Gerrard to make one change, 28-yr-old to start for Rangers

4-3-3 vs Dunfermline: Gerrard to make one change, 28-yr-old to start for Rangers – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Rangers host Dunfermline in the Scottish League Cup later today and they will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat against Malmo.

The Ibrox giants crashed out of the Champions League after a defeat to the Swedish side and they will be desperate to produce a positive reaction here.

Steven Gerrard’s side are heading into this game on the back of three consecutive defeats and the players will be under pressure to get back to winning ways.

The Scottish champions will be firm favourites to win here despite their recent run of form.

They have an excellent head to head record against Dunfermline. Rangers have managed to win four of their last five matches against today’s opposition and they have kept a clean sheet in all four victories.

The away side are coming into this game on the back of a draw and a defeat in their last two matches and they will need to improve immensely in order to pull off an upset here.

Given how Rangers have performed in their last three matches, the visitors will certainly fancy their chances and it remains to be seen whether the hosts can get the job done.

Rangers predicted XI (4-3-3): Allan McGregor; James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, Borna Barisic; Joe Aribo, Scott Arfield, Steven Davis; Ryan Kent, Ianis Hagi, Alfredo Morelos

Dunfermline Athletic Predicted XI (3-4-3): Deniz Mehmet; Aaron Comrie, Paul Watson, Ross Graham; Kyle MacDonald, Graham Dorrans, Dominic Thomas, Josh Edwards; Reece Cole, Kevin O’Hara, Nikolay Todorov

Gerrard is likely to make one change to the side that was beaten by Malmo. 28-year-old Helander should replace Balogun in the starting line-up.
