Rangers expected to receive a bid of around €16m for key star this summer – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been linked with a move away from the Scottish club this summer and Porto are keen on signing the player.

According to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Portuguese outfit are prepared to submit an offer of around €16 million for the Colombian striker and manager Sergio Conceicao is very keen on signing him.

Morelos has been outstanding for Rangers since moving to Ibrox and losing him will be a devastating blow for the Scottish champions.

However, a player of his calibre deserves to play at a higher level and it wouldn’t be surprising if he decided to move on before the transfer window closes.

The Colombian helped Rangers win the Scottish Premiership last season and he has nothing left to prove in Scotland anymore. The striker will be hoping to take on a new challenge and prove himself at a higher level.

The 25-year-old scored 17 goals and picked up 13 assists across all competitions for Rangers last season and he could prove to be a superb long term addition to the Porto attack.

It remains to be seen whether the Scottish outfit are prepared to accept the reported €16 million offer from Porto.

Steven Gerrard must look to bring in a quality replacement if Rangers lose the Colombian this summer. The Ibrox outfit will be hoping to defend their title this season and they cannot afford to take any risks in the transfer market.
