Newcastle United are interested in signing the Roma winger Carles Perez.
According to Calciomercato, the Premier League side are keen on improving their attacking options this summer and they have knocked on the Italian club’s door to find out whether the player can be signed for a knockdown price this summer.
The report adds that the winger might struggle to hold down a regular starting berth under Jose Mourinho and he needs to leave in order to play regular first-team football.
Apparently, Roma are under pressure to sell players in order to raise funds for their own signings and they could be open to letting the player leave on loan with an option or obligation to buy.
Newcastle have been following the 23-year-old winger for over a year now and this seems like an ideal time for them to make their move.
The winger needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and a move to the Premier League could be ideal for him.
The 23-year-old operates on the right flank and the magpies could certainly use someone like him in their attack.
Perez could complete Steve Bruce’s front three alongside Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin next season.
