Arsenal are not giving up on the hopes of signing Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on a permanent deal this summer.

The 22-year-old joined the Gunners on loan from Madrid during the January transfer window of 2020-21 and impressed heavily for the north London club. He scored two goals and provided two assists in 20 appearances last season.

Real Madrid new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, sees him as a part of his plans. However, the situation could change if Arsenal come up with a big-money bid.

According to journalist, Rudi Galeti, the Gunners are seriously interested in securing the signing of Odegaard. The north Londoners are ready to offer around €50 million (£42m) to sign him.

Odegaard could only get better with consistent playing time over an entire campaign, and he would be a cracking signing for the club.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to bring in a new creative midfielder this summer, and the Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Leicester City’s James Maddison.

Recently Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Gunners are not close to signing Maddison who would cost well over £60-70m. Romano has claimed that Odegaard remains the priority for the north London club.

It seems Arsenal are now prepared to make a formal bid for Odegaard this summer. The deal could be tricky, with Los Blancos likely to demand a buy-back clause.
