Newcastle United have agreed on a fee in the region of £25 million for Joe Willock.

The 21-year-old Arsenal midfielder was on loan at Newcastle last season and he made a lasting impression with his performances.

Steve Bruce was keen to bring the player back to the club on a permanent basis and the fans will be delighted to see that Newcastle have agreed to pay up for his services.

Willock had an outstanding loan spell at St James’s Park last season and he managed to score in seven consecutive matches for the Magpies.

The youngster has the potential to develop into a top-class Premier League midfielder and he has the talent to justify the reported £25 million price tag in the coming years.

Newcastle needed to add more creativity and goals to their midfield and the signing of Willock will certainly improve them a lot.

The likes of Alan Shearer seem impressed with the move as well.

A permanent move to Newcastle could be ideal for the player as well. He would have struggled for regular game time at Arsenal in the upcoming season.

At Newcastle, he will get more opportunities and that can only benefit his development.
