13 goals and 10 assists last season: Aston Villa identify 23-yr-old as a summer target – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and Manchester City are thought to be keen on securing his services.
According to the Telegraph, the West Midlands club are reluctant to sell their star midfielder but they have already identified a number of replacements in case the 25-year-old decides to move on.
The report adds that Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr is one of their preferred choices to replace Grealish along with Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell and the Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.
The 23-year-old Watford winger has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months and he could prove to be a quality long term acquisition for Dean Smith.
The attacker can operate anywhere across the front tree and his versatility will be an added bonus for the West Midlands club.
Sarr helped Watford secure promotion to the Premier League and he chipped in with 13 goals and 10 assists across all competitions last season.
A move to Aston Villa would be a step up for the 23-year-old winger and he is likely to be tempted to move on if Villa come calling with a concrete offer.
If Manchester City manage to sign Grealish this summer, Villa should have ample resources to lure the likes of Sarr away from Watford in the coming weeks.
