West Ham keen on signing €32m-rated player, Tottenham admire him as well – originally posted on Sportslens.com
West Ham United are thought to be interested in signing the Lille defender Sven Botman.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City admire the player as well.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting defensive talents around Europe right now and he helped the French club win the Ligue 1 title last season.
The report further states that Botman is open to a move to the Premier League this summer.
The Hammers will need to bring in quality defensive reinforcements before the transfer window shuts and Botman could prove to be a major upgrade on the likes of Craig Dawson next season.
The Londoners could offer the 21-year-old the chance to play in Europe as well.
West Ham will be playing in the Europa League this coming season and they cannot hope to succeed without a strong defensive unit.
If the Hammers can sign him for a reasonable price this summer, Botman could prove to be an exceptional addition to their side in the long run.
Apparently, the French outfit value him at €32 million and the player certainly has the talent to justify that outlay.
Lille are willing to accept around €32 million for Netherlands international centre-back Sven Botman.
Atalanta lead the way but West Ham, Newcastle and Norwich hold an interest. Big clubs put off by his lack of top-level experience.

Meanwhile, Newcastle will need to sign a quality centre-back as well but Botman will probably be hoping to play for a more ambitious club. The 21-year-old is unlikely to leave Champions League football to play for a mid-table side next season.
As far as the likes of Tottenham and Manchester City are concerned, the two clubs believe that the Dutchman is not ready for the Premier League just yet.
