Leeds and Spurs keen on 21-yr-old, they will have to pay in excess of £25.6m for attacker – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United have been linked with a move for the Sampdoria midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard.
According to reports via Il Bianconero, the Premier League side have shown an interest in signing the 21-year-old attacking midfielder who was quite impressive for Denmark during the European Championships earlier this summer.
The highly talented attacking midfielder can operate as a wide player as well and he could prove to be a superb long-term investment for the whites.
Marcelo Bielsa needs to add more attacking quality to his side and the 21-year old seems like an ideal fit for them.
Apparently, the Premier League side will have to pay more than €30 million (£25.6m) to sign him this summer.
It is highly unlikely that Sampdoria will lower their valuation of the player especially now that they are not keen on selling him.
Leeds will have to agree to the selling club’s demands if they want to sign the 21-year-old before the window shuts.
Damsgaard showed his immense potential during this Euros this summer and there is no doubt that he is ready to make his mark in the Premier League. A move to Leeds could be a superb step-up for the player as well.
Working with a top-class manager like Bielsa could help him improve his game.
Meanwhile, Leeds are not the only Premier League side keen on the player. Tottenham Hotspur are very much in the race as well.
The Londoners could use a quality creator like Damsgaard next season. They have been missing someone like him since the departure of Christian Eriksen.
