Celtic are reportedly keen on signing the Australian midfielder Aaron Mooy.

As per Daily Record, the former Huddersfield midfielder is on Ange Postecoglou’s transfer wish list the summer.

Celtic could use more depth and quality in their midfield and it remains to be seen whether they can bring Mooy to Parkhead in the coming weeks.

The experienced midfielder will add creativity at the centre of the park. Furthermore, he is a hardworking player who will help out defensively as well.

The 30-year-old is versatile enough to play in multiple positions across the midfield.

Mooy is currently contracted to Shanghai Port until the summer of 2024 and it remains to be seen whether Celtic can convince the Chinese outfit to part with the Australian.

Furthermore, Daily Record claims that the player is on big wages at the Chinese club. Mooy will probably have to lower his wage demands in order for the move to go through.

Celtic will be hoping to win the title next season and they will need proper reinforcements in order to do so.

They were quite mediocre across the pitch last season and the Hoops will have to strengthen considerably this summer.

Mooy could prove to be a quality short term addition for them. The midfielder has proven himself in the Premier League in the past and he should be able to succeed in the Scottish League as well.

Postecoglou is also looking to improve his defensive options before the transfer window shuts and Celtic have already signed Carl Starfelt from Rubin Kazan.
