Journalist confirms Everton’s approach for 27-yr-old Spaniard – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Everton have been linked with a move for the Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico.
The player is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer in search of regular first-team football and the Toffees reportedly submitted an offer to him.
However, the player has turned down the proposal from the Premier League side.
Sergio Rico no va a seguir en Paris. El Lille muy interesado pero NO hay acuerdo. El PSG rechazó una oferta de la Real Sociedad y el portero no aceptó una propuesta del Everton porque quiere garantías de jugar. Besiktas, totalmente fake. De momento así

It is no surprise that Everton are trying to sign a goalkeeper this summer.
They must look to find an upgrade on Jordan Pickford if they want to qualify for European football in the upcoming season.
Although the England international had an outstanding European Championships with this country, he has been quite error-prone at club level over the past two seasons.
The Toffees have been linked with quite a few goalkeepers in recent months and Rafael Benitez must look to strengthen their position in the coming weeks. The likes of Neto and Sergio Romero have been mentioned as potential targets in recent weeks.
PSG have recently signed Gianluigi Donnarumma on a free transfer and they have Keylor Navas at their disposal as well. Rico is unlikely to play for the French outfit anytime soon.
Meanwhile, Alphonse Areola is contracted to the French club as well but he has been heavily linked with West Ham United.
As for Rico, he is 27 and he cannot afford to continue on the bench at PSG. Rico has the potential to be a solid acquisition for most clubs and a move to Goodison Park could be ideal for him if the Toffees can provide him assurances regarding regular game time.
