‘Not good enough’, ‘Sell’: Some Manchester United fans react to 23-year-old’s display vs QPR – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Some Manchester United fans on Twitter reacted to the display of Axel Tuanzebe during the 4-2 friendly defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was picked to partner Teden Mengi in central defence, and he had a tough afternoon before he was substituted in the 78th minute.
Tuanzebe was the fourth-choice centre-back last season with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly preferred ahead of him by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
With United hot in the pursuit of Raphael Varane, there are suggestions that Tuanzebe could be loaned out to secure regular first-team football.
After the performance at Loftus Road, some fans believe Tuanzebe needs another loan stint while others feel the club should offload him permanently.
Twitter reactions:
Tuanzebe and Williams definitely need a loan – showing today they’re lacking the right quality / experience. Elanga, Shoretire looking promising. #manutd #QPRMUN @ManUtd

Our u23s like Elanga and Shoretire look very impressive. But Tuanzebe and Williams needs loans out imo.

Sell James and give Elanga and/or Pellistri more of a chance.
Think it might be time to cash in on Tuanzebe and Williams. Not sure a loan is the right move for either of them. They’re not good enough.

I guess it’s time for @ManUtd to sell Tuanzebe… doesn’t look like a man utd prospect… Please don’t bring him this season in dying minutes to defend…@Mike_Phelan_1 @carras1

That boy will be 24 years …next november
Tuanzebe may be useful in the right side when playing three at the back…
He is not good enough
United need to release him…

Tuanzebe has been linked with a potential move to Aston Villa. He previously had a couple of loan stints with the club in the Championship.
The Midlands outfit want him to provide back-up to Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa, and potentially push for a starting role in the long run.
It remains to be seen how United deal with his future. The arrival of an elite centre-back, most possibly Varane, could pave the way for his exit.
