Varane has entered the final year of his contract with the Spanish giants and it is understandable why Real Madrid have decided to cash in on him.
Apparently, the player was keen on a new challenge this upcoming season, and Real Madrid cannot afford to lose him on a free transfer next year by forcing him to stay now.
The 28-year-old is undoubtedly one of the best defenders around and he could transform Manchester United at the back next season.
The former World Cup winner will be a major upgrade on the likes of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’ side finished second in the Premier League last season and they will be expected to go all the way after two impressive signings of Varane and Jadon Sancho.
Some of the Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the potential arrival of the 28-year-old and here is what they had to say.
Disgustingly good deal

Lets pray the injury demons of Carrington never get to him. Fingers crossed. Very good signing as it stands. Should be a great complement to Maguire. I’m on my knees for a DM. That would be the most important signing this club has made since RVP.
