6’2″, 21yo Serie A striker could be ideal replacement for Harry Kane at Tottenham [Opinion] – originally posted on Sportslens.com
For Tottenham Hotspur, the thought of losing Harry Kane is inconceivable.
The 27-year-old has been the most prolific goal scorer in England for the past five years.
The striker is already one of the best strikers of his generation and has single-handedly carried Spurs for the past few seasons.
Despite the club finishing 7th in the Premier League table, Kane ended last season as the top scorer and top assister.
He is now desperate to win trophies and has stated his desire to do so back in May in a detailed interview with Gary Neville, although he stopped short of openly stating a desire to move away from Tottenham.
Daniel Levy might seem reluctant to sell, but with the player interested in leaving to win trophies and rival Premier League clubs interested in signing him, it is a situation the club might have to confront before the end of the summer transfer window.
A long term replacement could be Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic.
The 6’2 striker is currently playing his third season in Italy’s top flight after making his debut in 2018.
In his three seasons in Fiorentina colours, Vlahović has made 69 Serie A appearances so far, scoring 21 goals, an average of one goal every 147 minutes.
Vlahovic joins Haaland, Kean, and Gouiri as one of just FOUR players born after 1/1/2000 to score 10 or more goals in Europe’s TOP 5 Leagues in 2020/21

Vlahović’s physical strength and tall stature make him good at holding the ball up when in possession, a constant aerial threat during set pieces, and a target man for crosses into the penalty area.
The Serb’s relatively clean technique and ability on the ball stand out for a player of his size.
The 21-year-old is particularly fast and can be an asset during counter-attacks.
Vlahovic is a born goalscorer, capable of finding the back of the net from various situations and possessing a vast shooting repertoire.
His goals this season don’t vary much; bar the six penalties and, as mentioned, the solitary outside-of-the-box effort.
Cool one on one finishes, low and hard shots into the corner from crosses, and a shark smelling blood-like ability to react to loose balls.
The Serb has all the attributes required for a modern-day ‘number 9’.
If Spurs are willing to let their star man leave, they surely should break the bank on Vlahovic, who has the potential to be a superstar in the future.
