Liverpool planning bid for West Ham target with 24 goal contributions last season – report – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Liverpool are weighing up a move for Sparta Prague starlet Adam Hlozek after keeping a close eye on his development, Football Insider reports.
The Reds have been keeping tabs on the 18-year-old this year, and they recently sent their scouts to watch him in the Champions League qualifier against Rapid Vienna.
Hlozek is reportedly high on the club’s shortlist for the summer as they aim to recruit a young and promising forward who can develop under manager Jurgen Klopp.
Sportslens view:
The Reds currently have Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as the undisputed starters in attack, with Diogo Jota acting as the regular back-up.
However, Firmino had a disappointing 2020/21 campaign with just nine goals. The club could be looking into the future with suggestions that the Brazilian could leave soon.
Hlozek, who is also on the radar of West Ham United and AC Milan, showed great potential last term with 15 goals and nine assists from just 23 games.
He missed part of the campaign with a metatarsal fracture but ended the season on a high note with 10 goals and one assist in just six league matches.
The teenager can play out wide or lead the line and could be a quality long-term prospect for the Merseyside giants if he can make progress in the right direction.
Hlozek has three years left on his contract with the Czech giants. He could be prised away this summer for a fee between £15-20 million.
