Bryan Gil

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on double signings with Fabio Paratici working up to 20 hours a day on transfer deals.

According to reports from The Athletic, Paratici has all but tied up deals for Bryan Gil to arrive from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela and €25 million (£21.6m) going the other way, and Pierluigi Gollini joining the club from Atalanta.

Gollini will join initially on loan with the obligation to buy for €15 million (£12.9 million) should he make 20 appearances, from Atalanta.

It has been claimed that Paratici has been a long-term admirer of Gil.

The 20-year-old is viewed as one of the country’s most exciting young prospects, but he is likely to drop down the pecking order at Sevilla, behind Lucas Ocampos, Suso, Papu Gomez and potentially Youssef En-Nesyri.

With two years left on his current deal, the Serie A club have decided to cash in on him.

The left-footed winger had impressed everyone on loan at Eibar last season and he is currently in Tokyo as part of a strong Spain Olympic squad.

Two weeks back, Paratici was having a discussion with Sevilla director Monchi. While discussing a possible exchange deal involving Jules Kounde and Davinson Sanchez, the Spurs sporting director was made aware of Gil’s availability.

Monchi felt that €25 million-plus add-ons and Lamela made sense. The report suggests that Gil’s arrival could impact the futures of Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura, with Spurs willing to offload the Brazilian if a good offer comes in.

Gil is seen as a “rare talent”, and has been compared with Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish (in terms of style and flamboyance), a player Tottenham missed out of signing a few years back.

Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon has further fueled transfer speculation regarding the potential signing of Gil after he liked a transfer update from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Instagram.
