Report suggests Liverpool have made an offer of around £34.5m for 26-yr-old ace – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Spanish international Saul Niguez this month and it appears that the Premier League giants have now submitted an offer for the 26-year-old.
According to reports via Sport, Liverpool have offered around £34.5 million for the midfielder but Atletico Madrid are not convinced.
The report further states that Liverpool could sweeten the deal by offering players like Xherdan Shaqiri and Jordan Henderson.
Shaqiri has struggled for regular game time at Anfield and the Swiss winger needs to leave the club in order to play regularly.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that Henderson’s long-term future at the club is in doubt after the two parties failed to agree on a contract extension.
The Liverpool captain has a contract with the Reds until the summer of 2023.
As far as Saul is considered, the player was linked with Barcelona as well and he could do with a fresh start this summer.
The Spanish international is not a key player for Diego Simeone’s side anymore and a move to Anfield could help him kick start his career.
Liverpool need to bring in a quality replacement for Gini Wijnaldum and the 26-year-old Spaniard certainly fits the profile.
Saul can play in multiple roles across the midfield and defence like Wijnaldum and he has an impeccable fitness record as well.
