Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi is set to leave the club this summer.

According to journalist Neil Jones, Awoniyi is all set to complete a £6.5m move to Union Berlin.

He claims that a fee has been agreed and the medical will take place later today.

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is also on his way out of the club. The midfielder is in Portugal to finalise his move to FC Porto.

It has been reported that Porto will pay around £10.5m to sign Grujic.

Liverpool, like many other clubs, are struggling financially due to the impact of the coronavirus.

The Reds have already signed Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, paying £35m this summer.

It is widely reported that Liverpool’s potential incomings will largely depend on how much they can recoup through player sales.

The likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi, Lloris Karius, Nat Phillips, Neco Williams, and Harry Wilson are some of the players who could be shown the exit door this summer.

If the reported values are to be believed for the aforementioned players, and if the Reds can manage to recoup that amount, they can expect to receive around £70-75m, if not more, which will boost their transfer kitty.

Awoniyi’s spell at Liverpool has been really frustrating. He signed for the Reds at the age of 18 and has had to wait until just before his 24th birthday to meaningfully train with his club teammates.

Due to work permit issues, Awoniyi has been passed around seven clubs across the last six years. And now it seems, he is leaving the club on a permanent deal.
