Tottenham Hotspur reportedly joined the race for Houssem Aouar earlier this week.
According to Le10sport, the Londoners are now expected to submit a bid for the midfielder soon.
The 23-year-old playmaker is valued at around €20-25 million and the asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his calibre.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Frenchman as well and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
Spurs need to add more creativity and depth to their midfield and the Frenchman seems like an ideal addition.
Aouar is certainly one of the best midfielders in the French league and he could improve Nuno Espirito Santo’s side massively.
Tottenham are missing a creative presence at the heart of their midfield and the arrival of Aouar could certainly help the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min in terms of chance creation.
A club with Tottenham’s resources should be able to afford the reported asking price and they should look to finalise the transfer as soon as possible.
Aouar is only 23 and he has a lot of room for growth. He could develop into a top-class midfielder with experience and coaching.
There is no doubt that the Lyon star has the potential to justify his price tag next season.
The midfielder has excelled in the Champions League against Premier League teams and he should be able to settle in quickly and succeed in English football as well.
