Manchester United have no intention of accepting a loan deal for Alex Telles.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the English club have not entertained the possibility of a loan deal with AS Roma.

The Brazilian left-back was brought in last summer to give competition to Luke Shaw.

Despite not being Ole Solskjaer’s first choice at the position, Telles remains a vital part of the squad.

His crossing and set-piece delivery offer a different dynamic to Man United. Moreover, his arrival has seen Luke Shaw develop his game to a whole new level.

Roma, however, are desperately on the hunt for a new left-back. The injury to Leonardo Spinazzola in the Euros indeed must have left manager Jose Mourinho devastated.

The Italian left-back was in the form of his life and one of the players of the tournament.

He is expected to be out until January, which means that he will miss a majority of the season with Roma.

Roma, along with Juventus, are also in the hunt to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach left-back Ramy Bensebaini, according to the Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.

Another option for Mourinho would be to look at the club’s very own Ricardo Califiori.

At the age of 18, the Roma left-back is regarded as one of the best young prospects in Italian football, with the teenager beginning to make his mark on the first team.

It is to be seen if Mourinho trusts the youngster to perform consistently.

Roma will, however, try and test Man United’s resolve once again for Telles as they look to fill in a massive hole in their side
