Leeds United linked with a summer move for €18m-rated Bundesliga attacker – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United have been linked with a move for the Croatian winger Josip Brekalo this summer.
According to Calciomercato.it, the Premier League side are admirers of the 23-year-old winger who could be available for a fee of around €18 million.
Apparently, Wolfsburg are prepared to send the player out on loan with an obligation to buy and that could certainly help any potential transfer.
The Whites have been looking to strengthen in the wide areas this summer and they have been linked with the likes of Noa Lang in recent weeks.
Brekalo could also be a quality addition for Marcelo Bielsa’s attack and the asking price seems quite reasonable as well.
The 23-year-old is a naturally left-sided winger but he can operate on the other flank as well.
Brekalo was an important player for Wolfsburg last season and he managed to pick up seven goals and four assists across all competitions.
Working with a top-class manager like Marcelo Bielsa could help the player improve further and a move to Elland Road seems ideal for him.
The Premier League would be a step-up for him and he could develop quickly while playing alongside better players at Leeds.
However, the winger will have to work hard to earn a starting berth at Leeds after the impressive performances of Jack Harrison last season. He is highly unlikely to be a guaranteed starter for the Whites next season.
