Premier League outfit prepared to offer £15m for Celtic star this summer – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Newly promoted Premier League side Brentford are keen on signing Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic this summer.
According to Football Insider, the Londoners had an offer of around £12 million turned down for the 23-year-old and they are now set to return with an improved offer of around £15 million.
£15m seems like an ideal amount for someone in the final year of his contract.
Ajer has been heavily linked with a move away from Parkhead and a move to Brentford could be ideal for him.
The Norwegian has already proven himself in the Scottish Premiership and he will be hoping for a step-up in his career now.
Playing in the Premier League could accelerate his development. He will be playing in a more challenging environment, alongside better players.
The 23-year-old has the talent to play at this level and he wants to leave for a Premier League club or a top European club.
The defender has a contract with Celtic until the summer of 2022 and he is unlikely to sign an extension with them.
Celtic will be under pressure to cash in on him this summer instead of losing him on a free transfer next year.
The report from Football Insider adds that Norwich City and Bayer Leverkusen are keen on the Norwegian as well.
