Tottenham in talks to sign 22-yr-old, could send out an acceptable offer this week – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu for a while now.
According to Corriere di Bologna, the Premier League side are in talks with the Italian outfit for the Japanese international and they are expected to come forward with an acceptable offer for the 22-year-old this week.
Previously there were reports that Tottenham have had a bid turned down for the versatile defender but it seems that they are now closing in on their target.
The Japanese defender did well in the Italian league last season and he could prove to be a useful option for Nuno Espirito Santo next season.
The 22-year-old can operate as a full-back as well as a centre back and his versatility could come in handy during injury problems and rotation.
The Londoners were quite vulnerable defensively last season and Nuno must look to improve that area of the pitch if Tottenham are to challenge for a place in the top four.
Tomiyasu is still quite young and he’s likely to improve with game time and coaching. There is no doubt he could prove to be a superb long term investment for the Londoners.
The 22-year-old has a big future ahead of him and he could be an upgrade on the likes of Matt Doherty next season.
