Aston Villa are closing in on a deal to sign Tim Iroegbunam from West Brom according to a report from the Birmingham Mail.

Villans boss Dean Smith seems determined to bolster his ranks at Villa Park this summer.

The West Midlands outfit have already completed the signings of Emi Buendia and Ashley Young.

Meanwhile, Villa have been linked with a whole host of top stars including the likes of Arsenal’s Emile Smith-Rowe (Daily Mail).

At the same time, however, Smith clearly wants to focus on youth as well.

Aston Villa close to Tim Iroegbunam deal?

The West Brom youngster is closing in on a move to Villa Park according to The Birmingham Mail.

The 18-year-old is a defensive midfielder by trade and he has really impressed at youth level for the Baggies.

He has racked up four goals and four assists in 39 games for West Brom’s under-23’s and under-18’s.

Iroegbunam is powerful and dynamic and seems top have all of the attributes required to succeed at the very highest level.

A local lad from Great Barr, the 18-year-old has energy and athleticism in abundance. This season will come too soon for him to make an impact in the Premier League for Aston Villa.

He is undoubtedly one to keep an eye on for the future, however.
