Patrick Bamford is close to agreeing terms on a new contact with Leeds according to a report from The Athletic.

The 27-year-old striker moved to Elland Road from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018 for around £10 million according to BBC Sport.
Bamford has proven to be a superb signing for Leeds.
It wasn’t until last season when he really came into his own, however.
The former Chelsea and Middlesbrough ace racked up 17 goals and eight assists in 38 Premier League games for Leeds.
The 27-year-old is absolutely vital to the way in which Marcelo Bielsa’s side set up to play. Not only is Bamford a technically gifted striker, but he is great when playing with his back to goal and bringing others into play as well.

The Athletic claims that talks over a new contract for the 27-year-old are progressing really well.
It will be vital for Leeds to get the 27-year-old striker tied down to a new long-term deal with his current one set to expire in just 12 moths time.
Leeds fans love Bamford. At 27, he will undoubtedly continue to get better and better.

It seems as though he will be plying his trade at Elland Road for quite some time yet. And that’s great news for the Leeds fans.
