‘Negotiations at final stages’ – Journalist claims Arsenal set to complete agreement for summer target – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Arsenal are close to reaching an agreement for Albert Sambi Lokonga this summer.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their midfield this summer with Mikel Arteta eyeing quality additions in that department.

The north London club have been heavily linked with a move for Lokonga this summer, with the club having offered a formal bid already.

Last week, Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this month that the Gunners had made an offer of €17.5 million (£15m) for the Anderlecht midfielder.

Romano has provided another update today. He claims that the “agreement is set to be completed” with Anderlecht very soon.

The two clubs are working on finer details. Personal terms have been agreed upon, and that the negotiations between the two clubs are at the final stages.

It looks like Lokonga will join Arsenal at some point this summer, but as of now, no medical has been scheduled.

Arsenal could be in the market to sign more midfielders to their ranks, with Arteta desperate to add creativity in midfield.

The Gunners have been linked with players like Sander Berge, James Maddison, Piotr Zielinski, Ruben Neves, Manuel Locatelli in recent weeks, which gives an indication of where the priorities lie.

Arsenal are also aiming to bolster their defence this summer. They have been heavily linked with a move for Ben White, but are facing competition from Everton.
