West Ham and Everton monitoring 22-yr-old ahead of a potential summer move – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Everton and West Ham United are thought to be keeping tabs on the Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The 22 year old Japanese international has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur as well.
According to Il Resto di Carlino, Everton are looking to sign a new right-back this summer and Tomiyasu has popped up on their radar.
The Bologna defender can operate as a centre back as well and he could prove to be a quality addition to the Everton backline. His versatility would be an added bonus.
The Hammers could use some defensive depth as well and it is no surprise that they are keeping tabs on the Japanese international.
All three Premier League clubs have the resources to pull off the signing and it will be interesting to see where the Bologna defender ends up eventually.
Tomiyasu will be hoping to join a club where he can play regular first team football and the likes of Everton and Tottenham are more likely to be able to offer him that platform.
The Toffees are looking for a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman and Tomiyasu could be an instant starter for the Merseyside outfit next season.
Meanwhile, the likes of Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier have been quite mediocre for Tottenham this past season and the Londoners could use a starting right back next year as well.
West Ham have Vladimir Coufal as their first-choice right-back and the defender has been excellent since joining the London club. They might struggle to accommodate Tomiyasu in their starting line-up next year.
