Everton and Tottenham linked with 25-yr-old who has been outstanding in the Euros – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have been linked with a move for the Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick.
The 25-year-old had an impressive season with the German club (13 goals) last year and he has followed it up with some outstanding performances for his country in the European Championships.
Schick has got five goals in Euros with the Czech Republic and it is hardly surprising that he is being linked with a move to the Premier League.
Both Tottenham and Everton could use some attacking depth and the 25-year-old could prove to be a quality addition for them.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the player could cost around €40 million.
Leverkusen paid around €28 million for the striker last summer and it is understandable why they would look to make a considerable profit on him.
Spurs need to bring in a striker who can support Harry Kane in the attack and Schick would be an ideal fit for them.
Furthermore, the 25-year-old will be able to lead the line when the England international is injured.
As far as Everton are concerned, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the only reliable goalscorer at the club and the Toffees must look to add more quality and depth if they want to push for European qualification next season.
There is no doubt that both clubs have the resources to pay the reported asking price for the player but €40 million is probably too steep for them and they will be hoping to bring down the asking price through negotiations.
