Tottenham in contact with Euro giants regarding the signing of 100-cap international – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
The 31-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a key player since joining the Spanish club for a fee of around £52 million in 2020.
Barcelona are prepared to cash in on the 100-cap Bosnian international because of their current financial state and the player has been linked with a return to Juventus recently.
According to AS, the Premier League side have already been in contact with Barcelona regarding a summer transfer for the midfielder but Pjanic prefers a return to Italy.
The positive for the London club is that none of the Italian clubs have come forward with an offer for the 31-year-old Bosnian midfielder so far.
Spurs could definitely use some creativity at the centre of the park next year and the Barcelona player would be the ideal addition alongside the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Londoners have been desperately crying out for a playmaker like him and Pjanic could prove to be a quality addition on a bargain.
Barcelona will be aware of the fact that they will not be able to recoup the kind of money they paid for the midfielder back in 2020 and they will have to accept a massive loss on him this summer.
