Aston Villa keeping tabs on 25-yr-old Spurs ace, 21-yr-old winger on their radar as well – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Aston Villa are looking to improve their midfield options this summer and the Premier League side are keeping tabs on the likes of Harry Winks, Todd Cantwell and Dwight McNeil.
According to the Telegraph, Roma are keen on signing Douglas Luiz from Villa this summer and Dean Smith appears to be looking at potential replacements.
Winks has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Tottenham this past season and he could prove to be a smart signing for Villa.
The 25-year-old midfielder is very good at recycling possession and controlling the tempo of the game. Villa could certainly use someone like that alongside John McGinn and Douglas Luiz next season.
Meanwhile, the interest in Cantwell seems surprising especially because Jack Grealish plays in his position. Unless the Villa star leaves the club this summer, Cantwell’s signing does not make sense for the West Midlands club.
As far as McNeil is considered, the 21-year-old Burnley winger is highly rated in the Premier League and he could prove to be a top-quality investment for Villa.
They could certainly use some pace and flair in the wide areas and the Burnley attacker would be an ideal fit.
The West Midlands club have been linked with a move for James Ward-Prowse as well.
The Premier League side have been quite active in the transfer market so far and they have already completed the signings of Emiliano Buendia and Ashley Young.
