PSV Eindhoven defender Denzel Dumfries has been linked with the likes of Everton and Bayern Munich in recent weeks and it appears that the German champions have now pulled out of the transfer chase.
Bild are reporting that Bayern are unlikely to move for the Dutch international who will cost around €16 million this summer.
Bayern’s withdrawal from the race will come as a major boost for Everton who are keen on signing the player.
SL View: Could prove to be a major bargain for Everton
The Toffees need to bring in a quality long term replacement for Seamus Coleman and the 25-year-old has shown his qualities for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch league and for his national team in the European Championships this summer.
Dumfries has been one of the Netherlands’ most impressive players in the Euros so far and he could prove to be a quality long term acquisition for the Premier League side.
The reported asking price seems like a major bargain in today’s market and the 25-year-old certainly has the talent to justify the €16 million price tag.
Dumfries has shown that he is a reliable defender and he has a lot to offer going forward as well.
He has managed to score vital goals for his country in the European Championships so far and Everton will be hoping for more of the same from him next season if they manage to sign him.
