Burnley wanted to sign him in the January transfer window, and they had two bids rejected back then.
The report claims that Stoke City rejected an initial £4.5m offer for the centre back. However, the Clarets have finally managed to secure a deal for the 20-year-old defender.
He is an exciting young talent who is also capable of playing as a right back. The young Irishman made his debut in April 2019 and signed a new five-year contract at that time.
Collins had a contract at the club till 2024, and Stoke City were demanding a fee in the region of £10m.
The latest improved offer from Burnley leave them no room for rejection. It also shows how much the club have put their faith in the youngster.
It was necessary for Burnley to move quickly, with other Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United and Leicester City were vying for his signature.
The Gunners are also looking to bolster their defence this summer and have had an opening bid for Ben White rejected. Burnley didn’t leave it late, and they have now secured a deal for him.
Meanwhile, Burnley defender James Tarkowski continues to be linked with a move away from Turf Moor, with The Telegraph reporting that Wolves and West Ham fighting for his signature.
