The England youth international struggled for playing minutes last season, featuring in just four Premier League games, with two of them being starts.
The red-hot form and availability of Luke Shaw prevented Williams from breaking into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans, but he has a chance of playing regularly if he moves to Newcastle.

The Magpies have also been linked with a move for Dutch left-back Jetro Willems who spent the first half of last season on loan at St. James’ Park, but it remains to be seen whether head coach Steve Bruce is keen on a reunion.
Williams will be leaving Man Utd on loan this summer from the look of things, and Newcastle could do with such a versatile and highly talented youngsters.
The Red Devils academy graduate can also play at right-back and on both wings as a winger.
The 20-year-old is not short of suitors, with Southampton also keen, and pipping the Saints to his signature would be massive on Newcastle’s part.
With Matt Ritchie linked with a summer move to Bournemouth, Williams could come in as a direct replacement.
Despite his tender years, the Englishman has some experience under his belt having played 50 games across all competitions for Man Utd.
The SJP outfit need to make some quality loan signings this summer, and signing Williams could prove to be a masterstroke.
