23 goals and 8 assists last season: West Ham keen on 25-yr-old who is impressing at the Euros – originally posted on Sportslens.com
West Ham United have been linked with a move for the Ukraine international Roman Yaremchuk.
The 25 year old striker has been in exceptional form for his country during the European Championships and his performances have caught the attention of several European clubs.
According to calciomercato, the striker is valued at €25-30 million and the Hammers are not afraid of paying it.
The striker scored 23 goals and picked up 8 assists for Gent this past season and he has a goal and an assist in the Euros so far.
SL View: Ideal upgrade on Antonio
The Hammers could definitely use a quality striker and Yaremchuk could prove to be a useful addition.
The 25 year old Ukrainian will probably be an upgrade on Michail Antonio who has been operating as the club’s main striker.
Antonio is not a specialist goal scorer like Yaremchuk and the Ukrainian international would be a better choice to lead the line for David Moyes’ side next season.
The London club will be playing Europa League football next season and they will need more quality and depth in the side to juggle the European fixtures along with the Premier League.
Bringing in quality players like Yaremchuk could help them replicate the success of this past season.
The 25-year-old has proven himself with Gent and he will probably be looking for a bigger challenge now. He is at the right stage of his career to make the step up to the Premier League and a move to West Ham seems like the ideal next step in his career.
