Fabio Paratici’s arrival could see Tottenham move for 23-yr-old this summer – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Juventus defender Merih Demiral has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and Tottenham Hotspur could be a potential destination.
Everton were thought to be keen on signing the centre back according to earlier reports but it seems that the appointment of Fabio Paratici at Tottenham has added the Londoners to the list of suitors as well.
According to a report from Tuttosport (via Sportwitness), Paratici was the one who scouted the Turkish defender for the Italian club and Demiral could follow him to London now.
SL View: Demiral might need to leave Juventus and Spurs could be a good option
The 23-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at the Italian club and he needs to play more often at this stage of his career.
If Juventus cannot provide him with the game time assurances he needs, it would be wise of the player to move on.
Tottenham are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements and the Turkish international could prove to be a quality addition. He has the potential to develop into a top-class player in future.
Demiral has been a regular starter for his country during the European Championships this summer but the collective defensive performance of the team has been quite disappointing.
The Turkish international has three years on his current deal with the Italian outfit and he is unlikely to come cheap.
If Paratici wants to take him to the Premier League this summer, he will have to be prepared to pay a considerable amount of money for the player.
