‘Get it done’, ‘unreal potential’ – Some Spurs fans react to latest transfer update – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Tariq Lamptey.
We have covered the story in detail, so it would be futile to repeat the same thing.
Firstly, let us check what some of the Spurs fans are saying on Twitter:
No it’s not…25m max

Just give them 55 million Tottenham. He has the potential to be the best full back in world football. Yeah… I SAID IT! the boys too good. It’ll come back to bite us if we don’t sort this out.
Hope the speculation is real

Sell Aurier for £20 million, the £15ish million for Foyth and the £5 million sell on for Edwards should see this get done with a little bit of change.

He’s OK but £50m for some cheese strings hamstrings is ridiculous

Not even 30 . £15 m to 25 m max

50ml is ridiculous for a player who played like 11 games last season.
You should only be demanding that if he was outstanding for one whole season.
25-35mil is reasonable

Get it done before he’s signed by a giant, unreal potential.

Lamptey would be a great signing for Tottenham. He could thrive under Paulo Fonseca, who is set to become the new manager if widespread reports are to be believed.
The diminutive right-back is a pacey defender who is exciting to watch. Defensively, he is solid, but there’s plenty of room for improvement.
He is only 20 and has got a bright future ahead of him. He has got bundles of energy and is a good crosser of the ball.
A wide section of Spurs fans feel that he has the potential to be a world-class player.
Spurs are looking for a long-term replacement for Serge Aurier, who is almost certain to leave the club this summer.
However, the central point of the debate lies in the price tag. Brighton & Hove Albion are expected to demand around £50 million for him.
He has a long-term contract, and the selling club has every right to set a certain valuation of the player.
Lamptey could be a £50-100m player in a few years, but not at the moment. It is ludicrous to pay such a high amount for a player who managed just 11 games last season.
Although his season was cut short by injury, there’s no evidence to back the claim he would have maintained a similar level of performance throughout.
A fee of around £20-25m for Lamptey would be perfect, but Brighton probably see things differently.
