‘Lord have mercy’ – Some Spurs fans react to PL fixture announcement – originally posted on Sportslens.com
The Premier League have announced the 2021/22 fixtures today.
Tottenham Hotspur will start their new season against Manchester City at home.
In September, Spurs face back to back London derbies against Crytal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal, and they need to make a good start to the season.
They face Everton, Leeds and an away trip to Burnley in November which on paper looks tricky fixtures. In January, Spurs again face Chelsea and Arsenal back to back.
From February to March, the squad will be severely tested, as Spurs face Wolves, Man City, Leeds, Everton, Man Utd and West Ham.
A trip to Anfield in May could be important if they are in the mix for European places. Spurs end the campaign against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Tough first game. Already picturing Harry Kane not celebrating any of his goals.

Why do we always play Chelsea and arsenal back to back?

Don’t write first game off – big crowd – new beginning – attacking style – our stadium will be a fortress this season!

After the initial shock of seeing city first, it’s a good run of games I think. The “harder” games are spread out and we have a good run in December and at the end of the season (bar Liverpool)

Awesome…. nothing sets you up for a season like seeing you sell your best player to city , then see him come back and score a hatrick against you on the opening day!! Spurs at their most infuriating!!!

City, Chelsea, Arsenal and United in the first ten games. Lord have mercy.

Spurs will be hoping for vast improvements next season. They are yet to appoint a permanent manager, although Paulo Fonseca is reportedly close to agreeing a move.
Last season, the north London club slipped to a seventh-place finish. If you look at the fixture list, they have some tough fixtures in patches, and the club and will have a hectic schedule in 2021/22 due to their participation in the first-ever UEFA Conference League.
The summer transfer window is massive for Spurs. Harry Kane, the talisman striker, is actively looking for a way out this summer. If they lose him and start poorly, Spurs could be in serious trouble.
