Tottenham keen on versatile midfielder, Paratici has been following him closely – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on making a summer move for the Sampdoria attacking midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard.
The 20-year-old is highly rated across Europe and the newly appointed Spurs director Fabio Paratici is following the player closely.
The midfielder is currently away on international duty with Denmark and therefore any progress on a potential transfer is unlikely to be made in the coming weeks.
The likes of Inter Milan and Juventus are keen on the player as well according to SampNews24.
The report adds that the Italian outfit are not keen on selling the player but they could be tempted if an offer of more than €20m is presented this summer.
SL View: Replacement for Alli?
Spurs certainly have the financial means to pay that kind of money for the Danish international. They could use some depth in the attacking midfield department as well, especially if Dele Alli moves on.
The England midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at the London club and he has been heavily linked with a move away in recent months.
Damsgaard could be his replacement next season. The 20-year-old can operate as a left-sided winger as well and his versatility will be an added bonus for the Premier League side.
The Sampdoria midfielder chipped in with two goals and four assists this past season. Despite his tender age, he has already managed to establish himself as a key player for the Italian club.
Damsgaard made 35 appearances in the Italian league this past season.
