Liverpool are interested in signing the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus.

According to Florian Plettenberg from Sport1, Jurgen Klopp wants to sign the 24-year-old central midfielder to replace Gini Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman recently left the Premier League side on a free transfer and he has signed a contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Plettenburg, the Premier League side are yet to submit an offer for Neuhaus and things could progress after the European Championships.

The highly-rated German midfielder is expected to cost more than €40 million this summer.

Liverpool need to add more depth to the central midfield and they will have to shell out a considerable fee if they want to sign the 24-year-old in the coming weeks.

Neuhaus has been a key player for Gladbach and he has the potential to develop into a top plus player in future.

The 24-year-old chipped in with eight goals and eight assists from the central midfield this past season and the Reds are in desperate need of someone like him.

Wijnaldum has been criticised time and again for his lack of goals and assists and the signing of the German midfielder will certainly fix that problem for the Reds.

A potential move to the Premier League is likely to be tempting for the 24-year-old midfielder and the opportunity to work with Jurgen Klopp might prove to be too good to turn down for Neuhaus if the two clubs can agree on a fee.
