‘Good move’, ‘In Bielsa we trust’: Some Leeds fans react to latest transfer report – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Blackpool are close to signing Leeds United youngster Olly Casey on a permanent deal this summer.
Casey is a highly-rated young player who is a regular member of the Under-23 side. However, Blackpool have made an approach and are looking to sign the 20-year-old.
The centre-back is one area where Leeds have enough options at the moment, and it is highly unlikely that the youngster will break into the senior side.
Casey took part in the shock 3-0 defeat against Crawley in the FA Cup third round last season.
According to reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Casey is likely to secure a permanent move to Blackpool.
The report claims that the youngster, who is currently on holiday in Portugal, is keen on moving. His signing could be delayed as he will have to self isolate on his return.
Here are some of the best reactions from the Leeds fans on Twitter:
Supposedly highly thought of at Leeds given three year deal last summer now we’re just casting him aside seems weird one.

The right move, we can’t keep everyone and continue to move forward. Olly would be 6th choice CB at best and needs to play first team at nearly 21. He’ll have a solid career but like others in the u23s it’ll not be at Leeds.

If we do get another CB, it would be a good move for him.
But he is a main part of our u23 11, if we don’t get a CB, we shouldn’t let him go

Casey has a contract at Leeds until 2023, but the chances of him making the cut in the senior team are very slim.
The Whites bolstered their defensive options last season by signing Robin Koch and Diego Llorente, while Pascal Struijk has proved over the past few months that he is more than a handy back-up centre-back option for the club.
Liam Cooper is still a towering figure at the club, while Charlie Cresswell is showing more potential to break into the senior side.
Casey is way down the pecking order at the club, and a move to Blackpool is an exciting opportunity for him to prove his quality.
