Barnsley have completed the signing of striker Devante Cole from Motherwell, as per their official website.

The 26-year-old previously spent the 2014/15 season on loan with the Tykes when he was still a Manchester City player, scoring seven goals from 23 appearances in all competitions.

Cole had a decent run with Motherwell last season, bagging 11 goals from 27 games in the Scottish Premiership.

A product City’s youth system, the striker has played for several clubs in his career including MK Dons, Bradford City, Fleetwood Town, Wigan Athletic, Burton Albion and Doncaster Rovers.

A former England youth international, he represented the Young Lions at U16-U19 levels.

Barnsley challenged for Premier League promotion last season and reached the play-offs, but they were ousted in the semi-finals by Swansea City.

There is no doubt that their aim for the season ahead will be to finally win promotion to the English top-flight.

The Tykes will be hoping that Cole can help fire them to the Premier League after narrowly missing out last term.

He is now approaching the peak of his powers and will be looking to produce his best football next season for the Yorkshire club.
