Conte makes transfer suggestion to Spurs, 29-yr-old could be a target this summer – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte.
The Italian could take over at the London club as a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho and he has already made some transfer suggestions to the Premier League club.
According to Football Insider, the Italian manager is keen on signing the Dutch international Stefan de Vrij.
The 29-year-old has been a quality player for Conte at Inter Milan and it is no surprise that the Italian is keen on a reunion with him. Apparently, the player will cost around £45million.
It will be interesting to see if spurs can finalise the appointment of Conte in the coming days now.
The 51-year-old won the Italian league with Inter last season and he has managed to win the Premier League as well in the past.
The London side are in desperate need of a top-class manager and Antonio Conte certainly fits the bill.
His arrival will not only improve the side performance-wise, but he could also lure top quality players to the London club this summer.
SL View: De Vrij would sort out a key weakness for Spurs
It remains to be seen whether the Londoners are keen on making a move for the 29-year-old Inter Milan centre back this summer once Conte’s appointment is finalised.
De Vrij is at the peak of his career and he could prove to be a quality addition to the Spurs back four. He could be a solid replacement for Davinson Sanchez if the Colombian decides to move on this summer.
The defence has been a major weakness for the Londoners this past season (45 goals conceded in 38 league games) and de Vrij would be a sensible addition.
