Arsenal and Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia.

According to the Sun, both Premier League clubs have now submitted an offer for the Argentine midfielder. The report claims that both packages are worth in excess of £30 million.

It will be interesting to see where the 24-year-old ends up eventually.

Buendia has been in exceptional form in the Championship this past season and he has helped Norwich secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Apparently, the midfielder is rated at around £40 million and it remains to be seen whether the newly-promoted outfit are willing to sanction his departure for the reported offers of around £30 million.

SL View: Ideal long-term signing for both clubs

Both teams could use a quality playmaker in the final third and Buendia will add goals and vision to the side. Villa have been heavily reliant on Jack Grealish for creativity and Buendia could share the creative load with the England international.

As for Arsenal, Martin Odegaard made quite an impact after joining the club on loan during the second half of last season and Buendia could play a similar role next year. Arteta’s side are in desperate need of some creativity in the final third.

The 24-year-old midfielder has 15 goals and 17 assists to his name this past season and he was quite impressive in the Premier League during the 2019-20 season as well.

He managed to pick up seven assists in the Premier League before Norwich were relegated to the Championship. Buendia is clearly capable of succeeding at this level and whoever ends up signing him will have a potential star on their hands.

The player has the potential to justify the reported £40 million price tag in future.
