The Italian manager recently left Inter Milan after guiding them to the Scudetto after 11 years and he could prove to be a quality long term replacement for Jose Mourinho.
Antonio Conte is regarded as one of the finest managers in Europe right now and it would be a massive statement appointment for the Londoners.
The 51-year-old manager has won the Premier League before with Chelsea and he will be hoping to end Tottenham’s trophy drought if he takes over at the London club in the coming weeks.
Former Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici is also likely to join Conte at Tottenham.
SL View: Levy must back Conte for the appointment to work
It remains to be seen whether they can form a successful partnership with club chairman Daniel Levy.
The Italian manager will need significant backing in the transfer market to turn the Tottenham team around and Levy will have to loosen his purse strings this summer.
Key players like Harry Kane have been linked with moves to rival clubs like Manchester City and it remains to be seen whether Conte can convince him to stay at the club for another season.
The Londoners will be hoping to return to the Champions League at the very least and a domestic cup along with it should be a reasonably good start to Conte’s reign at Tottenham next year.
