Report suggests Tottenham are keen on €15m-rated attacker with 21 goal contributions – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Borussia Monchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann.
According to SportBild (via BuliNews), Atletico Madrid and Chelsea are keen on signing the 28-year-old German as well.
The German has a contract with Borussia Monchengladbach until the summer of 2023 and he could be available for a reasonable price of around €15 million this summer.
Tottenham could certainly use more depth in the wide areas and Hofmann would be a quality addition to their attack.
The 28-year-old is naturally a right-sided winger but he can play on the left flank as well and his versatility will be quite useful for the London club.
Spurs are lacking in right-sided attackers and Hofmann will add goals and assists to the side.
The Gladbach star has 8 goals and 13 assists to his name this past season and he would be an upgrade on the likes of Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela. He could form a quality attacking triumvirate alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min next season.
It will be interesting to see if the London club can fend off the competition from Atletico and Chelsea in the coming weeks and secure the German international’s services this summer.
Spurs need players who can come in and make an instant impact. Hofmann at the peak of his powers right now and he could be a smart investment for the Londoners.
