Tottenham linked with summer move for defensive duo, could cost them £60 million – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their defensive options in the summer and they have identified Max Aarons and Joachim Andersen as potential targets.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Londoners want a new right-back and the Norwich City defender could be an option for them.
Aarons has been outstanding for Norwich in the Championship this past season and he showed flashes of his quality in the Premier League before his side were relegated at the end of the 2019/20 season.
There is no doubt that the 21-year-old has immense potential and he could develop into a top-class defender in future. His signing would be a quality long term investment for the Premier League side.
Aarons is reportedly valued at £35m as per Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, Andersen has been impressive for Fulham in the Premier League and his performances seem to have caught Tottenham’s attention. He was a key player for Scott Parker’s side and he was handed the armband at Craven Cottage.
The 24-year-old Danish defender is up for grabs this summer and his parent club Lyon are willing to sell him permanently. Apparently, he is valued at £25m as per The Telegraph.
The likes of Davinson Sanchez and Serge Aurier have been linked with moves away from the London club and Spurs will need to bring in capable replacements.
The likes of Aarons and Andersen seem quality additions in theory. It will be interesting to see if Spurs can pull off the transfers in the coming weeks.
However, they will have to finalise their managerial appointment prior to that.
